As a Product Developer Infant and Toddler Nutrition you are responsible for New Product Development and the further development of our existing product portfolio. Your work focuses on a delicate consumer group where quality has top priority. The projects you are involved in run for several months up to several years.
Within the development group you as a Product Developer will work on projects on the Business to Consumer market for our own brands, Friso and Dutch Lady. You will collaborate closely with Marketing to get input from the market. Furthermore you will examine current recipes and raw materials and help Procurement with the selection of raw materials for (new) recipes. To develop the new product you will be responsible for recipe development, pilot plant test runs and finally scaling up to full production. You closely keep in mind the product specifications like nutrient density, shelf life stability and powder dissolution. Development projects could come from all over the world with a focus on the Asian market. Next to Product Development you will assist in investment projects by ensuring product quality. With new tools and techniques you will scrutinize quality of products and production processes. You will play an active role in professionalizing recipe and specification management as per planning of the Cyclops project.
The position is based in Beilen, but as of 1-1-2018 this will be Wageningen. During 2017 you need to travel to Wageningen for approximately two days a week.
The position covers all Infant Nutrition production plants. You will provide input on developments within Infant & Toddler Nutrition and discuss opportunities with your Research colleagues to set research focus areas for the future. You are part of the Development group consisting of around 20 people and will report to the Clusterleader. You collaborate with departments like Production, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs and Marketing both on national and international (Asia) level.
You as a Product Developer Infant and Toddler Nutrition have:
- A Bachelor or Master degree, preferably in the area of food technology, microbiology, chemical technology etc;
- Experience in a food company, preferably in the IFT area plus positive achievements;
- Excellent communication skills on all levels in English or Dutch is a plus;
- Calculation, modelling or programming skills are also a plus;
- The following key competences: clarity of thinking, analytical skills, quality focus, proactivity.
